Thank you to the staff (for the order preparation and shipping), the rose bush I received looks healthy. Planted in the ground, close to the "Port Sunlight" variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

Let yourself be surprised by the 'Summer Song' rose bush, the colour of its flowers is unique in its kind. It is very difficult to describe and by the time we try to grasp all the nuances, the petals have already changed tone. The same goes for its fragrance, some detect a hint of banana, others of tea. The charm of this rose is all the more striking because it is elusive.

This healthy and vigorous English rose bush was bred by David Austin, a guarantee of quality and reliability. Upright and bushy, it is perfect in a bed alongside other bushes and roses. The colour of the roses makes it suitable for warm combinations with flowers in apricot or yellow tones.

English roses are well known for being perpetually flowering and their flowers are renowned for being beautiful, regular rosettes and very fragrant.

Bred by David Austin in 2005.

Planting and care

Plant your English Rose 'Summer Song' in a sunny location. English roses are tolerant but will not tolerate excessive limestone. They will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked and rich enough. To plant your rose, work the soil by crumbling it and put an amendment at the bottom of the planting hole, such as dried blood or dehydrated horn. Water generously after planting to eliminate air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate rooting.

Pruning of English bush roses is essential for flowering. At the end of winter, shorten the branches to 3-5 buds above the ground (at the lowest), choose an outward-facing bud for a more elegant habit. Take advantage of this pruning to remove dead wood and unsightly branches. Pruning should be done at an angle above a bud. As the flowers bloom, remove faded flowers, as this stimulates the development of other buds.
