Description

Rose Generosa Cybelle has remarkable flowering.  From May until the first frost, it produces clusters of 3 to 5 large, round flowers. The flowers are double and delicately scented. Symbolizing love, they are a brilliant purple-red.

Generosa roses are repeat flowering. The roses stand out against the dark green, glossy foliage. The Cybelle rose is a very hardy bush.

It is one of the largest Generosa roses, reaching a height of 1.5m (5ft) at maturity.  You can cultivate it in flower beds or as a specimen plant. When cut, the flowers will make lovely bouquets for your home.

Planting and care

These roses prefer a sunny location (at least 4 to 5 hours of sun per day) but sheltered from the burning rays of midday and strong wind. Plant them from October to April. Easy to cultivate, roses appreciate loose, permeable and humus-rich soils. They prefer a soil with a neutral pH but will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well worked and sufficiently rich. To plant your potted rose, work the soil to a depth of 25 cm (10in), crumble the soil well and place a base amendment such as bonemeal at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, freed from its pot, covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil, fill in and water generously to eliminate air pockets. During dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to encourage rooting. Also provide your rose with special rose fertiliser to stimulate flowering. Prune its branches by a third each spring.

Roses are often spotted or unsightly at the end of summer, but this is not a problem for their development. These spots are not harmful to the rose, it is a natural phenomenon.
