Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose received is a bit dry but appears healthy to me. Planted near the 'Don Pacello' and 'Jazz Festival' varieties, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

The Generosa Rose 'Laurent Voulzy' stands out from other Generosa roses with the changing colours of its large flowers in a warm palette: its roses with amber hues evolve in a range of pink, orange, and yellow, exhaling a powerful fragrance with acidic notes. This modern bush combines resistance, charm, and prolific flowering: it blooms from May until the first frost.  Its thornless stems allow it to be planted near pathways or houses, even in small gardens. Perfect in flower beds, standalone, or in pots on the patio.

Generosa roses are modern roses (even ultramodern) with the appearance of old roses. They combine the charm of old roses with the robustness, surprising colours, and long flowering period of modern roses. 'Laurent Voulzy' was named on September 30, 2016, in the artist's presence, during the 54th Garden and Flavours Festival at the Fruit Gardens of Laquenexy, in Moselle. old

The Generosa Rose 'Laurent Voulzy' is a rounded bush rose. At maturity, it will reach approximately 1 m (3ft) in height and 90 cm (35in) to 1 m (3ft) in width. Flowering begins in May-June and only stops with the arrival of the first frosts. The plant produces solitary 9 cm (4in) flowers on thornless branches. Their charmingly crumpled appearance at the end of flowering contrasts with the well-formed, cup-shaped buds, and their tricoloured dress constantly evolves throughout the day. They emit a very pleasant fragrance with fresh citrus notes. The foliage is broad, abundant, healthy, and deciduous in winter, with a satin dark green colour, and requires little maintenance. This bush is very hardy.

The 'Laurent Voulzy' Roseas a vibrant tribute to the 'Power of Flowers', brings rhythm, a hint of nostalgia, and a beautiful touch of fragrance to the garden. Easy to grow in any good garden soil, it is accessible to beginner gardeners or those who lack time. Some perennial plants and grasses are ideal for highlighting its vibrant flowering and accompanying it late in the season. Pair it with blue flowers, such as campanulas, perennial geraniums, or Nepeta 'Walker's Low'. The beautiful spikes of white foxgloves will bring lightness to its flowering, as will the small white stars of Aster ageratoides Ashvi. Plant it with other roses in shades of white or pink (Winchester Cathedral, Chantal Thomass). It will look good as a standalone and in a pot on your patio or balcony. Its flowers make unique bouquets accompanied by peonies and purple irises.

Planting and care

Rose bushes need sunlight for 4-5 hours every day, but it's best to protect them from the strong sun and wind. They grow best in loose, permeable soil that is rich in humus. The soil should be well-cultivated and rich enough, but they can also grow in any type of soil.

If you're planting them in a pot, loosen the soil to a depth of 10 inches and add a base amendment like blood, fish and bone at the bottom of the planting hole. Position the plant and cover the top of the root ball with 1 inch of soil. Fill in the hole, press down the soil, and water generously to eliminate air pockets. Water regularly during dry weather for a few weeks to help the roots develop. Use special rose fertilisers to promote flowering.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
