Description

In summer, the 'Sweet Dream' rose is nothing but a beautiful dense bouquet of lovely double roses. The petals of its flowers display a delightful apricot pink and emit a sweet fragrance. The foliage remains lush and shiny.

This rose, known as a "dwarf" or "patio" rose, has a reputation for being highly resistant to diseases. It performs well in both open ground and deep pots and planters. It is perfect for filling a low border as well as flowering a terrace. Combine your rose with other terrace plants, and with this beautiful colour you can dare to mix and match. For example, try it with the vibrant Fuschia 'Voodoo'.

Sweet Dream has received various awards, including the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Garden Merit award. It is the most popular patio rose across the English Channel.

Planting and care

The Dwarf Sweet Dream rose prefers sunny locations. Excessive limestone can cause chlorosis. This rose is highly disease-resistant, but if you notice any spotted or affected leaves, remove them immediately. This rose is perfectly hardy when planted in the ground, but in a pot, it will be more fragile, so protect it from the harshness of winter. To plant your rose, prepare the soil by crumbling it and adding an amendment, such as dried blood or dehydrated horn, at the bottom of the planting hole. Water thoroughly after planting to eliminate any air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to promote root growth. In a pot, use a mixture of garden soil and potting soil in a ratio of 1/3 to 2/3. Don't forget to add a layer of clay pellets or gravel for drainage. Under these conditions, ensure regular watering throughout the year. Regularly remove faded flowers during the summer to stimulate the development of younger buds. Pruning consists of removing these flowers and reshaping the bush.
