Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the rose bush received appears healthy. Planted close to the 'Belles Rives' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... or not?

Description

The Rose 'Claire Marshall' combines the generosity of floribunda roses with clustered flowers and the opulence and fragrance of old roses. Modern but wildly romantic, this particularly compact and bushy variety bears bouquets of exquisite, fleshy and well-formed flowers, full of petals in a magenta to purple washed with mauve, exhaling a heavy and rich fragrance of old roses. They bloom in successive waves from June until the first frosts on ample dark and glossy foliage. Easy to slip into a flower bed and well-suited to pot culture, this charming little rose also allows for creating magnificent bouquets for months.

The 'Claire Marshall' or 'Harunite' Rose, registered by English rose grower Harkness in 2011, is classified as a Floribunda rose, with flowers grouped in corymbs or small bouquets. The plant forms a well-branched bush with a dense and slightly rounded habit, vigorous and fast-growing. It will measure approximately 70-80 cm (28-32in) in height, spanning 70 cm (28in). From May-June until late in the season, on foliage divided into large, dark and glossy leaflets, beautiful 10 cm (4in) diameter roses bloom. They are composed of numerous slightly toothed petals arranged in a spiral. Their colour is intermediate between magenta and light purple, with hints of mauve. Their fragrance is very pronounced. The disease resistance of this rose is good under appropriate growing conditions. This small, hardy shrub loses its leaves in autumn.

This modern rose 'Claire Marshall', with its fragrance, the romantic allure of its flowers and its beautiful floribundity, will find its place in the garden in a large rose bed, at the front of a shrub bed, or as a stand-alone feature in a small, well-tended garden. Its compact growth is well-suited for pot culture to adorn the terrace or balcony. The color of its flowers pairs perfectly with pale pink roses (Prince Jardinier), white roses (Jeanne Moreau, Jardins de Bagatelle). Also, consider planting it near very easy-to-grow plants such as perennial geraniums (Geranium Blue Cloud, Anne Folkard, Nimbus, Orion), bellflowers (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, snapdragons and foxgloves. Its flowers can create bouquets with a nostalgic charm that delicately perfume the home.

Planting and care

Planting your rose requires some preparation. Begin by working the soil to a depth of 25 cubic cm and adding a base amendment like blood, fish, and bone to the bottom of the planting hole. Remove the plant from its pot and position it by covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm (1in) of soil. Refill the hole and water generously to eliminate any air pockets. It's essential to water the rose regularly for a few weeks during dry weather to help the roots grow. Use a special rose fertiliser that stimulates plant flowering. Choose a sunny location or partial shade to plant your rose in hot regions.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
