Description

The Large-flowered Golden Perfumella® 'Meifazeda' Rose brightens the garden with its pure yellow flowers measuring 13 cm in diameter, true bursts of sunshine at the heart of flowerbeds. Its powerful fragrance with rosy and fruity apricot hints adds an exquisite sensory dimension to its flowering. With its balanced bushy habit and disease resistance, it finds its place both as a standalone feature or in borders and fragrant beds. Being a constantly flowering variety, it offers continuous flowering from spring until the first frosts, bringing all its refinement and luminosity to the garden and patios.

A recent creation by Meilland, the Golden Perfumella® 'Meifazeda' rose belongs to the Rosaceae family and the Hybrid Tea group. Hybrid Tea roses produce elegant turbinate-shaped flowers with petals arranged in a spiral that gradually open. Often large and refined, their roses are borne on long stems, making them ideal as cut flowers. The plant's balanced bushy habit reaches 90 to 100 cm in height and 50 cm in spread. Its long thorny stems support traditional flowers measuring 13 cm in diameter, whose 40 petals arranged in an open cup capture and reflect light brilliantly. This tireless and continuous flowering beginning in spring and lasting until the first frosts ensures a lasting floral presence throughout the season. Its discreet matt green foliage contrasts with the intensity of its pure yellow flowers, reminiscent of the summer sun's glow. A perfect balance between aesthetics and fragrance, this bush rose combines abundant flowering with a powerful fragrance featuring fruity hints of apricot.

The 'Meifazeda' rose is ideal for brightening borders, pathways, and fragrant beds, adding volume and texture while remaining suited to both small and large gardens. Its flowers are an excellent choice for creating refined cut flower displays, with an excellent vase life that prolongs the pleasure indoors. It pairs harmoniously with contrasting blooms and structural foliage. Alongside it, a 'Leonardo da Vinci' rose with its deep pink flowers will creates an elegant association where each hue enhances the other. For a play on volumes and textures, a Perovskia 'Blue Spire' with its silvery foliage and lavender-blue spikes will add an airy touch that softens the intensity of its vibrant yellow. At its feet, some nepetas will form a delicate blue-mauve carpet of flowers that highlights the roses' presence while attracting pollinators.

Planting and care

To plant your Meifazeda rose, prepare the soil by working it to a depth of 25 cm, breaking up any clumps and adding a base fertiliser such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Place your plant after removing it from its pot, covering the top of the root ball with 3 cm of soil, then backfill and water thoroughly to eliminate any air pockets. In dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to encourage root establishment. Also consider feeding your rose with a special rose fertiliser to promote flowering. Choose a sunny spot, or partial shade in very hot regions.
