Thanks to the individuals (for order preparation and shipping), the bare-root rose received appears to be healthy. Planted near the 'Ina an Mona' variety, I am now patiently waiting for it to take root... (or not?).

Description

Rosa Ragazza 'Adalekov' was awarded the Honorary Prize of the Baden-Baden Casino in 2018 for its deliciously fruity fragrance and the beauty of its large white and pink double cup-shaped flowers. It is a vigorous and healthy rose, with a repeat-flowering habit, whose roses slowly open to reveal their delicate colours. The bush is adorned with abundant dark green foliage that is slightly glossy and resistant to diseases. Easy to grow, this romantic rose suits all gardens. It is lovely in borders and performs well in pots. It produces beautiful roses for bouquets.

Rosa Ragazza is a hybrid tea belonging to the modern roses with large flowers. It forms a small bush with a rather upright, regular, and compact habit. It will reach a height of about 80cm (32in) and a width of 60cm (24in). From June until the first frost, it bears beautiful roses in successive waves. They are formed of 80 to 90 petals and measure 13 to 14cm (5 to 6in) wide. They are solitary, appearing on long stems. They form a gradient from pink to white, from the centre of the flower to the edge. Their fragrance is powerful. The abundant foliage is made up of thick dark green leaflets. It is very healthy, even though it is sometimes prone to black spot disease in very humid climates.

Rosa Ragazza will delight fans of scented and romantic roses. It adapts to all soils that are not too dry and to all climates, which means it can be planted almost anywhere. However, like all perpetual flowering roses, its blooming will decrease in very dry summers, and then resume in autumn. Planted in groups of 3 to 5 plants, it will enhance shrub borders. It will also fit perfectly into a large flower bed. It pairs perfectly with pretty and easy-to-grow perennials such as daylilies, hardy geraniums (Geranium 'Blue Cloud', G. 'Anne Folkard', G. 'Nimbus', G. 'Orion'), bellflowers (lactiflora, rapunculoides), catmints, snapdragons, and foxgloves. These plants will cover its bare base.

Planting and care

Choose a sunny exposure or partial shade in very hot regions. Work the soil to a depth of 30 cubic cm, crumble the soil well, and place a base amendment such as dried blood or dehydrated horn at the bottom of the planting hole. Position your plant, removed from its pot, and cover the top of the root ball with 3cm (1in) of soil. Fill in the hole and water generously to eliminate air pockets. In dry weather, water regularly for a few weeks to facilitate root growth. Provide your rose with special rose fertiliser that stimulates flowering in plants.
