Description

The Euonymus fortunei 'Blondy' is a remarkable creeping spindle tree, with golden foliage edged in green, very bright, even in winter, ideal for brightening up partially shaded corners of the garden.

Originating from China, the fortunei spindle tree is a ground cover bush, slow-growing, perfectly hardy. The 'Blondy' variety, reaching a height of 60 cm (23.6 in), has a compact habit, bushy with flexible branches that can be easily trained. The evergreen, elliptical leaves, 3 to 6 cm (1.2 to 2.4 in) long, serrated, are golden and edged in dark green. In October, an insignificant flowering of small white-greenish flowers gives way to pinkish berries, toxic if ingested.

The Euonymus fortunei 'Blondy', easy to grow, thrives in well-drained soil, in sunny or partially shaded locations. Pruning is unnecessary, it is better to pinch out the young plants to encourage branching and only remove dead or diseased wood. It can be grown in a pot on a terrace, in a rockery or as a border. You can even train it against a stone wall or shape it into a topiary.

Tip: In case of drought, water to maintain beautiful foliage.
