More information

A collection of 50 bulbs, including 40 tulips and 10 hyacinths, in a range of white, pink and purple tones. A perfect mix to create a romantic scene, where tender pink hues are enhanced by more vibrant touches of purple and softened by hints of white. The tall, ivory-white tulip variety White Dream rules over the collection. The Synaeda Blue variety unveils iridescent pink flowers with hints of mauve and white edges, while the Purple Prince variety, slightly shorter, lifts the overall composition with violet-purple tints. Lower down, Oriental hyacinths give substance to the ensemble, also bringing fragrance in their wake. The floral spikes of the Fondant hyacinth variety are soft pink, while those of the Purple Prince lean towards purple tones. The first flowers appear in March, the last ones in May, and this collection will be at its peak in April.

Description

With this collection of bulbs, romance will come to life in your garden! It creates a stunningly beautiful and romantic atmosphere, remaining full of subtlety, where pink tones reveal their beauty, amplified by touches of white and enhanced by purple and violet hues. Under the spring sun, a charming harmony unfolds, creating a harmonious tableau. Tulips provide height to the scene with the elegance of their iridescent cups, while hyacinths bring density and fragrance with their generous floral spikes. Together, they effortlessly offer an unforgettable tableau to celebrate the arrival of spring. Sublime in the company of Winter windflowers (Anemone blanda).

The Romantic Harmony collection includes:

- 10x Tulip Triomphe White Dream: a tall, elegant and luminous variety with a narrow corolla and ivory-white petals. The flowers stand atop thick, robust stems. Flowering from April. Height 40-45 cm (16-18in).

- 10x Tulip Triomphe Synaeda Blue: irresistible with its large, unique, pink-mauve flowers, with glowing lilac-rose touches and a violet-purple centre, bordered by very pale pink to brilliant white edges. Its stem measures 40 cm (16in) and it flowers in April-May.

- 10x Early Single Tulip Purple Prince: a rather early variety with short stems. It bears a single flower, but richly coloured in purple-violet tones. It flowers in March-April, on stems measuring 30-35 cm (12-14in).

- 10x Early Double Tulip Foxtrot: An early-flowering variety, double pink mixed with white, blooming in April. Its stem measures 30 cm (12in).

- 5x Hyacinth Fondant: a delight for the eyes and nose. This highly fragrant variety produces waxy, soft pink flower spikes that appear to be made of sugar. It flowers at the beginning of the hyacinth season, from March onwards. Height 20-25 cm (8-10in).

- 5x Hyacinth Purple Sensation: its single, fragrant flower spikes exhibit an unusual colour for hybrid hyacinths, deep purple-violet. This variety flowers in March-April, with floral stems measuring between 25 and 30 cm (10-12in).

Individually labelled.

This collection of spring bulbs will be ideally placed along the edges of large flowerbeds, in short grass meadows, along pathways, and in flower beds. It can be planted in pots or containers, to adorn balconies and terraces. It also offers a beautiful supply of flowers to create romantic bouquets. The Triomphe tulips and early single tulips easily naturalise in the garden, as do the Oriental hyacinths if they benefit from well-drained soil, even if it somewhat dries out in summer. These are hardy bulbous plants that faithfully come back every year.

Planting and care

Plant your bulbs as soon as possible in a well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply, incorporate compost and sand if necessary. Plant at a depth of 10 cm (4in) (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height in soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch each other. Choose a sunny exposure for improved flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them back.
