Description

This blend of Triumph Tulips brings together several classic varieties with timeless charm, displaying a beautiful range of vibrant or pastel shades, depending on the plants. They are also distinguished by the excellent durability of their flowers, both in vases and in flower beds. In the shape of classic cups, they are carried by thick and sturdy stems that are weather-resistant and allow for elegant bouquets to be created. Triumph tulips bloom in the middle of the tulip season, in April, more or less early depending on the climate.

The Triumph Tulip belongs to the Lily family. Of horticultural origin, it is currently classified in Division 3, which is mainly characterised by having flowers with narrow cups. The floral stem measures an average of 45 cm (18in) in height, depending on the varieties. The flowers have six "petals" (more precisely tepals) with thick and slightly silky substance. The leaves emerge from the ground in early spring, they are broadly lanceolate and green-blue in colour. They yellow and dry a few weeks after flowering, while the bulb goes into a dormant state.

The Triumph Tulip finds its place in large flower beds. Combine it with simple flowers like Forget-me-nots, Grape Hyacinths, Scillas, Hyacinths, etc. This also helps to extend the duration of flowering in flower beds. Pair it with white daffodils, lady's mantle or even hellebores and euphorbias, and you will create stunning scenes. It goes perfectly with tall perennials and is ideal for creating elegant bouquets. When placing them in a vase, use very little water. Additionally, if your tulips open too quickly, you can add two to three ice cubes to the vase every day.

Note: Each batch is unique and the proportion of colours may vary significantly from one batch to another.

Planting and care

Plant the Triumph tulip bulbs in autumn, from September to December, at a depth of 15 cm (6in), spacing them 10 cm (4in) apart. The planting should be done in ordinary soil, slightly acidic, neutral, or slightly alkaline, loose, well-worked, and well-draining. Never add undecomposed manure or compost to the planting soil, as this could cause the bulbs to rot. The tulip will thrive in moist to dry soil in summer. Plant it in a sunny or partially shaded location. Once flowering is complete, it is best to remove the fruits to avoid depleting the plant.
