Description
The 'Temple of Beauty' Late Single Tulip is an old variety, awarded in England, that remains unmatched for its tall stature and vibrant colour. Its 'lily' flower is adorned with a blood orange hue leaning towards red and towers over flower beds. Its long stem makes it an excellent cut flower.
The 'Temple of Beauty' Tulip was introduced by DW Lefeber & Co in 1959, the creator of the famous 'Apeldoorn', and awarded an A.G.M in 1993. It is currently classified in Division 5, characterised by late flowering. It is particularly tall and reaches a height of between 60 and 80 cm when in bloom. Its lanceolate leaves are slightly marbled with brown on a glaucous background. Its flowers stand out with their vibrant shape and colour. The flowering usually takes place in May-June, making it useful in the garden to accompany the first summer blooms.
The 'Temple of Beauty' tulip finds a place in large flower beds, behind other tulips. To accompany it, choose foliage plants such as medium-sized ornamental grasses (Pennisetum, Briza media, Melica ciliata), fennel, or lady's mantle. Ideal for creating cheerful bouquets, only add a small amount of water to their vase, a little in the bottom is sufficient. Furthermore, if your tulips open too quickly, you can add two to three ice cubes to the vase each day.

Planting and care
Plant the 'Temple of Beauty' tulips in a sunny or partially shaded spot from late September to December for spring flowering, in light and well-drained soil, loosened to a depth of 15 cm. Space the bulbs 10 cm apart without touching each other to create a mass effect that will give a more decorative appearance. The care required is very easy. Simply water regularly, especially during dry winters, and cut the flower stems after flowering. Allow the leaves to completely dry before cutting them.
