I had only ordered one collection, and it is so cheerful, so bright in the middle of a large, still somewhat empty flower bed in early April that I plan to order a second collection in the autumn.

Description

For the first time we have composed a beautiful Collection of 2 varieties of single tulips and 1 variety of Narcissus. Their stems are very sturdy, which gives them good resistance to bad weather. Each variety blooms at a different height, allowing for a play of levels and colours.

This Collection consists of:

10 Menton Triumph Tulips: pink in colour and 40cm tall.

10 Inzell Triumph Tulips: with ivory white flowers and 50cm tall.

15 Pueblo Narcissus: a new variety with white flowers and a pale yellow centre, reaching a height of 35cm.

Individually labelled.

Planting and care

Plant your bulbs as soon as possible in well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15cm (bulbs should be covered with twice their height of soil). Space the bulbs a few centimetres apart, making sure they do not touch. Choose a sunny location for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stems and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them. After flowering, the foliage becomes unsightly. We recommend planting Heuchera, Foamflower, Brunnera, Bleeding Heart or Cypress Spurge in the foreground of your flowerbeds, as their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips, and throughout the season they will elegantly conceal the yellowed leaves. Daffodils bloom from March to May and come back every year. Very easy to grow, Pueblo narcissus tolerates both the shade of a woodland and a sunny flower bed. Plant them at a depth of 10cm and spaced 10cm apart. Group them in clusters of at least 5 bulbs, in uniform colours or mixed. You can also plant them in the lawn. In this case lift the sod and dig and loosen the soil to a depth of at least 20 cm (the height of a spade). Plant your bulbs, cover with soil and replace the sod. Choose a location where you will not mow, as it is necessary to let the daffodil leaves wither before cutting them. This is when the bulb replenishes itself and prepares the flowers for the following year. However, remember to cut the flowers as soon as they have faded to prevent seed formation which would unnecessarily exhaust the bulb.
