Description
Cosmos Sonata White Dwarf is a variety belonging to Cosmos bipinnatus. This species typically includes varieties of annual plants that are 100 to 150 cm (39 to 59in) tall. The dwarf habit, 60 cm (24in) tall and compactness of this variety, combined with its large white flowers measuring 7 cm (3in) in diameter, have earned it the gold medal at the Fleuroselect competition.
Very easy to grow, Cosmos is particularly suitable for border and mass planting.
Its large white flowers with yellow centres, borne on finely cut light green foliage, elegantly complement pink, blue, or black flowers.
The long and abundant flowering from June to October is also a significant advantage of Dwarf Cosmos Sonata White.
Eco-friendly tip: Planting a melliferous plant like Cosmos in your garden will attract pollinating insects and butterflies throughout the summer. At the end of the season, allow the last flowers to produce their seeds, which are particularly appreciated by birds. This will encourage them to settle in your garden and play an important role in its ecosystem.

Planting and care
Two cultivation options are available to you: Sowing undercover in March-April, followed by transplanting into pots before final planting in your flower beds after the frost. Direct sowing in May (after the last frost), followed by transplanting at a spacing of 30 cm (12in) or simply thinning out excess seedlings. During the summer months, removing faded flowers will promote renewal and extend flowering until autumn.

Hardiness is the lowest winter temperature a plant can endure without suffering serious damage or even dying. However, hardiness is affected by location (a sheltered area, such as a patio), protection (winter cover) and soil type (hardiness is improved by well-drained soil).
