However, the small clumps arrived a bit dried out, but I have thoroughly rehydrated them and I hope they will grow properly.

Description

The Indigo Cascade collection, composed of 5 varieties of trailing summer flowers or "annuals", is ideal for hanging baskets or flower pots. It consists of 2 varieties of petunias, the excellent blue-violet Surfinia and the new 'Blue Picotée' petunia with delicately fringed indigo blue flowers edged with white, accompanied by the fragrant 'Snow Princess' alyssum and original foliage to add depth and contrast. Its flowering will be very long with regular watering and fertilizing.

You can fill a 40cm (16in) diameter hanging basket or a 50 to 60cm (20 to 24in) long flower pot. You can also distribute the plants in two 25 to 30cm (10 to 12in) diameter hanging baskets, as suggested in our photo.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products reserved for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered place (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before installing them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed.

Planting and care

You can plant your Indigo Cascade collection in pots or hanging baskets. If you wish to install them directly outdoors, wait until the last heavy frosts have passed. In the meantime, you can pre-cultivate them in a warm and bright place to accelerate their growth. Plant in a sunny location. They need a deep and humus-bearing soil, which remains rather moist. Therefore, they appreciate rich soils. Amend the planting substrate, for example, with dried blood. Water regularly, but not excessively. They are very floriferous and require a lot of nutrients. We recommend feeding them with a potting fertilizer once or twice a week during the growing period. Remove faded flowers as they appear to keep them looking beautiful and extend the flowering period.
