Description

The 'Sweet Mimosa' pelargonium is a scented geranium, with the scent of mimosa and carrot, typically grown as an annual.

This geranium bears small pink flowers veined with purple, perhaps less spectacular than those of classic perennial or annual hybrids, but more authentic.

The leaves, of medium green colour, veined and with a segmented shape, are highly scented. With a simple touch, they release a delicate carrot fragrance. Plant them, therefore, in a pot or in the ground, in a place where you can touch them, such as a border or a pot on the terrace or veranda. They perfume the air and keep mosquitoes away.

One day after the rain, we were captivated by a bed of fragrant geraniums and immersed ourselves in a symphony of delicate scents.

Our plants are at least eight weeks old and are strong enough to be planted in the ground.

Note: Please be aware that our young plug plants are professional products intended for experienced gardeners: upon receipt, transplant and store them in a sheltered location (veranda, greenhouse, cold frame) at a temperature above 14°C (57.2°F) for a few weeks before being planted outdoors once the risk of frost is definitively eliminated.

Planting and care

Plant your geraniums in open ground after the last frosts, in a sunny location. You can also plant them in pots placed in a protected location, which you will take out in May. If you install them in open ground, wait until the frosts have passed. Fragrant geraniums require well-drained soil, but not necessarily very rich. Water moderately. In pots, regular watering is necessary in summer. You can keep your geraniums by bringing them inside a veranda or a cold greenhouse in winter. They can tolerate a light frost, but they will not spend the winter in the garden.
