Toujours très satisfaite d'un plant venant de ce site. Il ne me reste plus qu'à attendre le printemps pour savoir comment cette nectarine va pousser. Elle a été mise en pot dès réception.

Description

The Nectarella zaidulab dwarf nectarine tree is a self-fertile and productive variety. A slow-growing dwarf tree, it will reach a height of 1.50 m (5ft) when fully grown and is perfectly suited for container gardening and small gardens. It produces round nectarines, large in size, with red skin and yellow, juicy, and sweet flesh. The harvest takes place in August when the fruit is ripe. This hardy variety requires little maintenance, with light pruning being sufficient.

The species name "Persica" was given to the peach tree, which was originally believed to be from Persia. In reality, all cultivated forms originate from northern China. The nectarine tree is a natural mutation of the peach tree that is thought to have occurred in the 16th century.

Like many fruit trees, the Nectarella zaidulab dwarf nectarine tree prefers light, rich, and deep soils. It does not tolerate excessive water or heavy, compact soils. It is a slow-growing tree, suitable for container gardening and small gardens. Its spreading habit indicates a tree with many branches that grow horizontally.

Its deciduous foliage is a vibrant green and emits a slight almond scent. The leaves are long, measuring 8 to 15 cm (3 to 6in) in length and 3 to 4 cm (1 to 2in) in width, with short petioles. Its magnificent flowering, a beautiful red colour, occurs from mid-March onwards. This allows it to be grown in northern regions, but it should still be placed in a sunny and sheltered location. The pink flowers are hermaphroditic and self-fertile. The fruits, which turn red, are ready to be harvested in August. This tree does not require excessive maintenance. It can tolerate severe pruning, but not every year.

The nectarine can be enjoyed raw, cooked, sweet, savory, flambéed, frozen, or thawed. It pairs well with wine and certain meats, such as duck. It is found in numerous recipes, including jams, compotes, and pastries...

This fruit tree is delivered in a 'ready-to-plant' root ball. During planting, the root ball should be planted as is. The biodegradable tontine that surrounds the root ball and preserves the rootlets will decompose naturally as the plant grows. By doing so, you ensure better establishment.

Planting and care

The Dwarf Nectarine Nectarella zaidulab is preferably planted from September to November. Dig a hole two to three weeks before planting, twice as wide and deep as the pot. On the day, place the tree with its pot in a basin of water, in order to moisten the entire root ball by capillarity. Add compost at the bottom of the hole. Place the tree in the hole, fill with a mixture of soil and compost. Gently tamp around the base of the tree as you fill, ensuring the roots are in close contact with the soil. The root ball should be completely covered. Water generously.

The Dwarf Nectarine Nectarella® zaidulab has a semi-pivoting root system. It will thrive in fairly deep soils. It also prefers a light and well-draining soil.

Care

Pruning instructions In the following spring after planting, a first training pruning will be welcome. Keep only the branches that will form the tree's framework (about 5 branches). Fruits appear on one-year-old branches. The wood that has borne fruits will not reproduce. For fruiting pruning, trim the branches that have already borne fruit to 2 buds above the future branching. Remove the crisscrossing branches in the center and shorten the longer ones that extend outward in order to maintain a harmonious shape.
Pruning Pruning recommended once a year
Pruning time January to February, December
Soil moisture Tolerant
Disease resistance Good
Overwinter Can be left in the ground
