Description
The Alcalthaea 'Parkallee' is a new variety with semi-double flowers, ivory white with a chamois reflection.
A hybrid plant resulting from the cross-breeding of the tree mallow (Althea) and the hollyhock (Alcea), this novelty has taken the best of each; namely the shrubby habit and longevity of one, and the vibrant colors and floribundity of the other.
A semi-evergreen perennial, the Alcalthaea 'Parkallee' has an elegant shrubby habit, reaching 1.50m (5ft) in height and 80cm (32in) to 1m (3ft) in width when mature.
The flowers, smaller than those of its cousins but more numerous, measure 4cm (2in) in diameter. They are semi-double, with an ivory white to cream colour and chamois reflections.
Provide it with a rich, well-drained and light soil accompanied by sunlight. It pairs beautifully with roses, catmints, bellflowers and yarrows.
