Description

The Achemilla erythropoda is a perennial groundcover of rocky meadows, very cold-resistant and easy to grow. This species of lady's mantle forms a cushion of 30cm (12in) high round and pubescent palmate leaves, bluish-green, very toothed and fluffy. The green-yellowish flowers appear in dense clusters on reddish stems that are not muc taller than the foliage between May and August.

Ideal plant for rockeries or walls, it thrives in many situations in well-drained soil and prefers partial shade; in full sun, its foliage is not at its best. You can associate it with other rockery plants such as bellflowers, moss phlox or sedums. Suitable for a scree garden, paving, a paved courtyard, where it will self-seed between the joints.

The Alchemilla erythropoda is known for its many medicinal properties.
