Description

Some are perfectly perennial, others are rather biennial with such a propensity to self-seed that they can be considered as perennial. All are highly toxic if ingested, but not by contact. They like partial shade or sun but not too scorching exposure, and a humus-rich, moist to dry, and well-draining soil. Their rigid and vertical appearance is irreplaceable in scenes where roundness and stiffness oppose and complement each other.

Unlike most foxgloves, this one loves scorching exposures and a rather dry, rocky, and highly draining soil.
