I had placed an order in February for all the compositions, I was written to and called to cancel the order and get a refund, then I was told that the young plants were naked and that I had to wait a few weeks to order them which I did, but after multiple exchanges and promises I have just been informed that I will not have these plants as they are no longer in supply... I am very disappointed with this lack of follow-up, really !!

Description

The Morning Stroll composition from the Autumn Fairy collection is a highly successful combination of three perennial plants chosen for their decorative foliage or generous flowering. Easy to grow in the ground or in pots, the carnation, the heuchera, and the Calocephalus blend textures and colours, remaining attractive for a good part of the year. Outside the mildest regions, you will need to overwinter the pot in a cold greenhouse to keep the Calocephalus, which is not very hardy. Already composed and ready to plant, this trio allows you to dress up the terrace or garden for an immediate and tasteful, lasting effect!

The Morning Walk pot consists of:

- 1 x Dianthus or Merci Fleuri carnation: a perennial variety that is very hardy, with a compact habit and a particularly long flowering period from April-May until October. Its small flowers have scarlet petals with black spots at the base. The foliage persists in winter.

- 1 x Heuchera with dark caramel-coloured leaves with pink and bronze highlights. This perennial plant blooms in summer, with very light floral spikes adorned with tiny white-pink bells. The foliage more or less persists in winter.

- 1 x Calocephalus brownii or Leucophyta brownii: a small, evergreen, sculptural perennial bush from the asteraceae family, forming a ball, 40 cm (16in) in all directions. Its silver stems bear very fine leaves of the same colour. In summer, the bush produces small rounded, cream-white bouquets. The plant perishes below -5°C (23°F) and dislikes heavy, waterlogged soils.

Grown in the same pot, these perennial plants get along well, each taking its place without suffocating the others. They will need to be repotted in a larger container, such as a wide basin, to showcase them on the balcony or terrace. This composition can also be planted in the ground, in full sun or partial shade, in well-drained, rich, and moist soil.

Planting and care

Plant your Morning Stroll composition in spring or early autumn. Repot in a large container, such as a basin or planter, to allow the plants to reach their full potential. Use rich and light potting soil and water regularly. Apply universal fertilizer in spring. Choose a sunny or, at worst, partially shaded exposure. The created pot can spend the winter outside, but the Calocephalus, which does not withstand strong frosts, will perish (-5°C (23°F)). To keep it, overwinter in a cold greenhouse.

In open ground: if your soil is heavy, mix in a little potting soil and sand, partially fill in and place your composition so that the top of the plants' root balls are covered with 2-3 cm (1in) of soil. The addition of a base fertilizer will nourish your plants during the rooting period without the risk of burning. Tamp the soil and water generously to eliminate air pockets. If the weather is dry, you will need to water regularly for a few weeks to aid establishment, then water if it is very dry. We recommend pruning the leaves and dry stems in February-March.
