Description
Kalimeris incisa 'Madiva' offers a swarm of small white flowers from June to September, even extending to October. This tall, hardy and robust perennial is indispensable in summer beds, bringing a bright, fresh and natural feel to the garden. Its abundant flowering is ideal for creating charming bouquets with a rustic look.
The 'Madiva' variety is one of the tallest kalimeris. It reaches a minimum height of 60cm (24in), but can grow up to 1.2m (4ft). Its erect stems bear deciduous, oblong, dentate and light green leaves. Small but numerous, they cover the clump and form a green background that welcomes countless flowers from the beginning of summer. These flowers are similar to asters, with small daisy-like flowers measuring 3cm (1in) in diameter. They have a yellow centre and a row of graceful, long and thin florets, with a light white colour with slightly lilac reflections. This lovely clump is essential in flower beds and will flower the summer season without too much difficulty, while waiting for their cousins the asters to arrive. Kalimeris is a robust and hardy perennial (it easily withstands temperatures below -15°C (5°F)) that requires little monitoring. Removing faded flowers will suffice.
It appreciates full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. It prefers ordinary, well-drained soils with a tendency to be moist. Once established, it can tolerate some drought.
If you love asters, Kalimeris incisa 'Madiva' will keep you company while you wait for their appearance. This large bushy plant will generously fill the space and adorn the feet of taller plants such as French roses, marsh mallow and Althaea 'Freedom'. If you prefer a wilder style, plant it with white willowherbs and grasses.

Planting and care
Easy to grow, Kalimeris incisa 'Madiva' is very tolerant. It grows in all exposures, preferring the sun but tolerating partial shade.
It appreciates ordinary to rich, well-drained and slightly moist soils.
It withstands frosts of -15°C (5°F) and is therefore suitable for many climates.
Removing faded flowers as they appear will encourage new blooms.
