Linaria anticaria Antique Silver

Linaria anticaria Antique Silver, also known as toadflax, is a small perennial, reaching 15-20cm (6-8in) tall, forming spreading carpets of pale lilac flowers above a mist of grey-blue leaves.

The rootstock of Antique Silver toadflax spreads slowly with its weakly creeping rhizomes and forms a dense cushion of flexible and slender reclining stems, covered in small lanceolate grey-blue leaves. In this variety, the small flowers, borne in the upper part of the stems, are pale lilac, streaked with purple and bloom from May to July.

Antique Silver toadflax will thrive in border plantings, rock gardens, or containers, in a sunny location, in a moist, well-draining, alkaline or neutral soil.
