Thrives very well in a flower bed, no need to water it, it is drought-resistant. Impeccable.

Description

Robust and easy to grow, Nepeta 'Six Hills Giant' blooms from May to October with regular deadheading.

This variety has a mildly suckering growth habit and forms bushes that can grow up to 50cm (19.7 in) tall and 60cm (23.6 in) wide. It produces many lavender-blue flowers, each 5cm (2 in) in length, on its inflorescence, which attract bees and butterflies. The grey leaves, resembling mint, give off a delightful aroma that is known to attract cats.

A versatile plant, Nepeta 'Six Hills Giant' thrives in sunny, rocky, and nutrient-poor soils. While it prefers moist soil, it adapts to summer drought by reducing its flowering.

Planting and care

The Nepeta, 'Six Hills Giant', is a plant that can thrive in any terrain. It grows best under sunlight, even in light, poor and stony soils. Although it prefers moist soils, it can adapt to the summer drought by reducing its flowering. If planted in heavy soils, it's recommended to dig a hole that is three times larger than the volume of the bucket and mix 1/3 gravel and 1/3 sand with your topsoil to lighten the soil. This will prevent water stagnation in winter. To ensure the plant stays healthy, you should cut back the faded inflorescences in the middle of summer to a height of 20cm (7.9 in) using shears. This will make the plant more compact and flower again in autumn.
