Description
Polygonatum falcatum 'Variegatum' is unique both for its pendulous flower bells and its bright variegation. A perennial of rare elegance.
This new variety of Solomon's seal has a slowly spreading rhizomatous stump, which forms spectacular clumps over time.
In spring, its arching stems bear pretty bell-shaped white flowers with a touch of green at the tip. The upright, gracefully arching stems carry superb ovate foliage. It is tender green, variegated with a fine cream-white edge.
An excellent understory plant, Solomon's seal grows in shade or partial shade. It likes light, humus-rich soil and appreciates moisture, especially in spring. Easy to grow, it pairs well with hostas, hakonechloas, and heucheras.

Planting and care
Solomon's seals are beautiful hardy perennial plants for damp undergrowth. They are graceful and hardy, making them ideal companions for wood anemones, ferns, bluebells, or a carpet of ivy. Plant in any shaded, moist soil that is rich in humus. It will tolerate slightly chalky soil.
