I bought this young plant in the spring of 2018, it didn't flower last summer but established itself well. After a winter where it completely disappeared, it reappeared at the beginning of spring and is growing very well. Flower buds have emerged, it is going to be magnificent!

Description

Thalictrum aquilegifolium 'Album' is a tall perennial with the appearance of baby's breath.

In summer, it develops tall, airy, flowering stems measuring 1.2m (4ft) in height, in shades of ivory white. Its beautiful finely cut foliage earns it the nickname of "meadow-rue with columbine-like leaves".

Thalictrum aquilegifolium 'Album' easily grows at the back of borders. It likes semi-shaded positions and humus-rich and moist soils. It pairs very well with lilies.

It takes a little time to establish, but is worth the wait.

Planting and care

Plant in the middle or at the back of flower beds, in the sun, staked in rich and well-drained soil. Do not cut back the plants to the ground after flowering, as new shoots will only emerge at the end of the following spring. Remove faded flowers to avoid excessive self-seeding.

Tip: Dare to go tall with these giant plants that bring structure and balance to the garden! The tallest ones, when isolated, add volume and lightness against a dark backdrop of hedges or conifers. Those of intermediate size can dress up tall flower beds, such as those with giant dahlias.
