Description

Thalictrum Elin is from a hybridisation between Thalictrum flavum var. glaucum and Thalictrum rochebrunianum, it possesses the qualities of its parents but without the faults, namely strong vegetation and elegant flowers.
Thalictrum Elin forms a robust stump, from which grey-blue leaves appear, which are highly cut. Its flowers can reach up to 2.50 meters (8 feet) in height!  The panicles of pink-lilac flowers bloom in early summer.  Robust and easy to grow, this colossus deserves a prominent place as a specimen or in the background of a lush garden, in partial shade, in a damp and rich soil.

Planting and care

These plants with foliage similar to that of columbines like a semi-shaded position in a soil rich in humus, remaining damp even in summer, without limestone. In our garden, we place the meadow rue in the shade of deciduous trees, so that in winter, the dead leaves provide the humus which then forms a natural mulch, conserving the moisture that these plants need.
