Rosa x floribunda Catherine Meurisse - Floribunda Rose

The 'Catherine Meurisse' Rose is adorned with roses full of dentate petals, in a delightful porcelain pink gradient. The bush, compact and well-branched, also develops pretty copper shoots that precede each new wave of flowers, from summer to autumn. Its roses are slightly fragrant and as delicate as their godmother's illustrations. They bloom on elegant foliage with excellent disease resistance. This is a variety particularly suited for pot cultivation, an absolute must-see!

The 'Catherine Meurisse' Rose is a very recent creation published by Star de Doué. It forms in a few years a bush with spiny stems 60-70 cm (24-28in) tall and 60 cm (24in) wide, very ramified, covered with fairly light and slightly glossy green foliage, very healthy. This deciduous foliage falls in autumn. The flowering is renewed from May-June to October-November. The wide corollas measuring 7-8 cm (3in) are very double, gathered in bouquets of 5 to 7 flowers with undulate petals. The tightly rounded buds open into flowers of light pink colour, more coloured in the centre, almost white at the edges. Their scent is light.

Bush roses can be used to create beautiful small hedges, planted mixed at the edge of the terrace or in small-sized shrub beds. Combine them with abelias, nandinas, or caryopteris for example. They are good companions for paniculate phlox and tall gypsophiles. The modest size and resistance of this 'Catherine Meurisse' rose make it an interesting variety for all gardens, even small ones, as well as for cultivation in large pots. Its use is versatile, according to the desires of each gardener: in a rose bed, in the company of white varieties ('Marie Pavie', 'Swanny'), or mauve ones ('Blue Boy', 'Rhapsody in Blue' etc.), or mixed with easy-to-grow plants like perennial geraniums, small-flowered carnations, or asters.
