Arrive in very good condition. This is the second bush I have bought of this specific research area because the first one has grown and flowered very well, and I want another one.

Description

Buddleia davidii Nanho White ('Monite') is a beautiful dwarf butterfly bush, with a compact and gracefully open habit, ideal for small spaces. This hardy bush produces white panicles, 15 cm (5.9 in) long, from June to October. From its numerous small white flowers with orange hearts, gathered in dense clusters, emerge a beautiful green-silver foliage, crowned with many butterflies attracted by their sweet scent. Its modest size is particularly suitable for small spaces and perennial borders.

Buddleia davidii Nanho White ('Monite') is a deciduous shrub with a spreading and compact habit, belonging to the Scrophulariaceae (Buddlejaceae) family. This shrub will reach about 1.5 m (4.9 ft) in height and spread. It produces stout, arched branches that give it a lovely bushy habit. Fast-growing, it flowers from July to October, producing an abundance of dense 15 cm (5.9 in) long flower panicles. These flowers are bright white with orange eyes and release a sweet scent, highly sought after by pollinating insects. Its highly ornamental foliage is composed of long silver-green leaves, with a greyish down on the underside. The leaves, 12 cm to 20 cm (4.7 in to 7.9 in) long, are pointed and lanceolate. This very hardy shrub does not suffer from occasional drought in deep soil.

Whether planted alone or in groups, in a hedge or at the back of a perennial border, Buddleia davidii Nanho White ('Monite') will enhance the garden. Its subtly silver-toned foliage will highlight red roses or the colourful panicles of summer lilacs. You can also plant it in a small, free-form hedge to separate themed areas in the garden. It adapts well to coastal areas and can be grown in large pots. In a monochromatic theme, for example, you can plant it with a small purple Rudbeckia like the variety 'Little Magnus', whose flowers will contrast beautifully with Nanho White's shape and colour. These fragrant flowers are also very pretty in bouquets.

Planting and care

Buddleia davidii Nanho White ('Monite') is easy to grow, as it is a low-maintenance plant. It appreciates sunny spots, but also flowers in partial shade. Plant it in spring or early autumn, in ordinary, well-worked and well-drained soil. It can tolerate limestone and mediocre soil. Once established, the plant will tolerate periods of moderate drought. David's buddleia has no significant enemies. However, beware of caterpillars, weevils, bugs, and red spider mites that can infest it. Pruning vigorously after flowering and/or in early spring keeps the shrub's habit ramified and compact and encourages it to produce many flowers.
