Sad-looking plant, with not even the care to remove the branches, leaves, and withered flowers. At £45 per pot, it's lamentable. At least I have the satisfaction of having rescued this young plant from the landfill.

Description

Hebe x addenda 'Linda' is a small bush remarkable for its spikes of bright pink flowers that stand out from its foliage. Ideal for your containers, rockeries, and borders.

The 'Linda' Hebe has a rounded and compact habit. This small bush reaches a height and spread of 0.80m (2-3 ft) at maturity. It is among the large-leaved varieties of Hebe. The foliage is light green and shiny, lanceolate in shape. Delightful summer flowering is revealed from July to September in the form of bright pink flower spikes that stand out from its light green foliage.

Its elegance and decorative, colourful blooms will be best expressed in containers, rockeries, borders, or as a standalone plant. Combining with perennials and succulent plants such as sedums is also effective.

The 'Linda' Hebe has a medium hardiness (-8°C (17.6 °F)). This floriferous small bush prefers a sunny exposure and protection from severe cold. Choose a well-drained, moist, humus-rich and light soil for planting.

Planting and care

In gardens with a wet climate, Hebes should be reserved for rockeries or sloping banks. It enjoys a rich soil that is always well-drained. In the colder regions of Northern Europe it is necessary to protect these shrubs during winter or cultivate them in pots, bringing them indoors during periods of freezing weather. One should avoid pruning this Shrubby Veronica, but it is advisable to remove any dead branches to preserve its compact habit.
