Other than the fact that the package was upside down, so there was soil everywhere in the package (you should put 'TOP' and 'BOTTOM' on the packages), the plant has grown well and I am looking forward to seeing the first flowers in spring. Thank you.

Description

The Perovskia atriplicifolia Lacey Blue is a new variety with a very compact habit; along with lavender, it is the preferred shrub for edging paths and paving in a Mediterranean style.

This bush is small, not exceeding 50cm (19.7 in) in height, and forms compact mats. In summer, it is adorned with blue-violet flowers, in 15cm (5.9 in) spikes carried on short white stems, which do not droop or collapse like other varieties.

Decorative and bright, its grey foliage with serrated edges is very aromatic and recalls the scent of sage.

A drought-tolerant plant, Perovskia thrives in sunny, chalky, rocky, and poor soils. It does not tolerate shade well and does not support clayey and compact soils.

It thrives on sunny slopes and structures wild-looking borders when mixed with gauras lindheimeri, Buenos Aires verbena, and grasses. Its small size also allows for container cultivation.

NOTE: During winter, the branches of the bush are dry as it is semi-evergreen and pruned back to the ground. In early spring, new shoots will develop from the base.

Planting and care

The perovskia loves the sun, well-drained soils, even poor ones. Once established, it is drought-resistant and not afraid of slugs. It also tolerates coastal climates. A bush that is easy to maintain, its only maintenance is to prune it at the end of winter.
