The plant received is quite harmoniously branched and looks promising, especially for flowering as it was already in bloom upon reception! The pruning and growth have satisfied me considering the price.

Description

Vitex agnus-castus 'Albus', commonly known as the Pepper Tree or Chaste Tree, is a shrub with a compact and erect habit. Its inflorescences of pure white flowers produce an abundance of flowers that bloom from July to October.

Originating from Mediterranean regions and Asia, Vitex agnus-castus 'Albus' is a shrub with a compact and erect habit, reaching a height of 2 to 4 m (7 to 13 ft) and a width of 2 m (7 ft). From July to October, it produces long paniculate flower clusters of pure white that are very abundant, airy, and especially melliferous. Its deciduous foliage is a soft green colour. The silky leaves are opposite, deeply lobed, and compound with leaflets arranged in a fan shape. They are aromatic and emit a peppery scent.

Tolerating temperatures as low as -15 °C (5 °F), Vitex agnus-castus 'Albus' thrives in sunny locations. Protect it from cold winds by planting it in a sheltered area. Plant it in a dry and chalky soil. The planting period is from October to May, but in colder climates, it is preferable to plant it from April to June. Prune it severely from December to January to promote new flowering.

It is used in both large and small gardens, as it is a shrub that is highly decorative due to its flowering and foliage. It is well suited for use in country hedges, as a standalone plant, or for coastal borders. It is an excellent companion for other plants.
