Young plant arrived in very good condition. Easy to order and much more choice than my local garden centre.

Description

The Weigela florida 'Pink Poppet' is a bush with a compact habit, deciduous green foliage that turns purple and ochre in autumn, and abundant pink flowers in corymbs that bloom from May to June and September to October.

Native to China and Korea, the Weigela florida 'Pink Poppet' is a bush with a compact and globose habit, reaching 1m (3.2ft) in height and 1 to 1.5 m (3.2 to 4.9ft)  in width. Its bright pink flowers, borne in corymbs, bloom from May to June and sometimes re-bloom from September to October. Its deciduous green foliage, which turns purple and ochre in autumn, is very decorative. The branches of this bush are arched.

Hardy down to -15°C (5°F), it thrives in sunny or semi-shaded positions. Plant it in moist soil with a neutral pH from October to March (excluding frost periods). Prune back the branches that have flowered heavily as well as the dry branches in July, this promotes a beautiful flowering the following year.

It can be used in pots to attract attention in small gardens, or in borders or as a wall plant in larger gardens.
