Description

This Low-Growing Honey-producing Flower Mix for Borders, Beds and Balconies is an assortment of annual and perennial plants specially selected for their nectar richness and their ability to attract pollinators. Formed of 21 different species, it also offers a palette of very vibrant colours throughout the summer: the bright blue of cornflower contrasts with the brilliant orange of Cosmos sulphureus, amidst the light flowering of sweet alyssum. It also includes honey-producing aromatic plants such as wild thyme, lemon balm, hyssop and catmint.

This mix is sown directly in situ from April to June, in the sun, in well-prepared soil. Flowering begins as early as June and continues until September. With a height of 20 to 30 cm, this flowering carpet is perfectly suited to small spaces: balconies, planters, borders or the base of walls.
Includes: Hyssopus officinalis, Melissa officinalis, Nepeta mussini, Thymus serpyllum, Reseda odorata…

These plants, in addition to feeding bees and beneficial insects, will bring cheer and lightness to your garden. Some species may self-seed naturally from one year to the next. Once established, this little flowering corner requires only minimal maintenance: watering in case of drought and a light tidy-up at the end of the season are enough for it to regenerate year after year.

Invite nature into your garden: sow our mixes for flowering meadows along a path border, on the bank bordering a sunken lane, or at the bottom of the garden, bordering the countryside.

Planting and care

To successfully sow your Low-growing nectar-rich Flower Mix, sow directly in situ between April and June, when the soil is well warmed. Choose a sunny location, in a border, flowerbed, or container, and prepare the soil carefully: weed, loosen with a rake, then level.
Sow broadcast, spacing well to avoid competition between the young plants. Lightly cover the seeds with a little soil or sand, then water with a fine spray. Keep the soil moist until germination, which usually takes one to two weeks. Once established, the plants will grow quickly and flower all summer, without requiring much maintenance.

The correct quantity to sow: sow approximately 2.5 g per m². For a uniform sowing, you can mix the seeds with fine sand or vermiculite. This helps to distribute the seeds evenly, especially over small areas like borders or planters.
