Gaura lindheimeri Elegance - Pearl Pink Lindheimers Gaura

The Gaura lindheimeri Elegance is a beautiful recent creation, which has many qualities and lives up to its name. This plant has a well-proportioned shape and is adorned with an abundance of pearly pink flowers from June to September. The flowers are arranged in light spikes, giving the impression of a gentle breeze. The plant's deciduous foliage comprises small, velvety, deep green leaves with cream borders. The Gaura lindheimeri Elegance is a member of the Evening Primrose family and is native to the Louisiana and Texas prairies and pinewoods located along the borders of Mexico and the United States. This perennial has a taproot and forms a light and bushy clump that is slightly spreading, with a height of 80 cm (31.5 in) and a spread of 50 cm (19.7 in). The foliage is magnificent, with small velvety leaves that are edged with cream and dark pink and a relatively dark green lamina on both sides—the taproot system anchors the plant in poor, even rocky soils.
