Planting and care

These plants are the result of various cross-breeding, mainly involving H. orientalis and its subspecies. They have beautiful evergreen foliage, dark green and glossy, which is best pruned back to ground level just at the end of winter, before the appearance of flowers and new leaves, in order to avoid black spot disease and maintain the plant's vibrancy. They tolerate any moist soil, even clay, preferably without limestone. The start of flowering, which varies greatly from one region to another, spreads from February to April.
