Planting and care

These plants are the result of various cross-breeding, mainly with H. orientalis and its subspecies. They have beautiful evergreen, dark green and glossy foliage, which is best cut back to ground level just at the end of winter, before the appearance of flowers and new leaves. This will help to avoid black spot disease and keep the plant looking its best. They tolerate any moist soil, even clayey, preferably without limestone. The start date of flowering, which varies greatly from one region to another, spreads from February to April.
