Hello, today I received this rose bush as part of my order. I am very disappointed with this rose bush - it has 3 very fragile little stems that are ready to break. It's way too expensive at 17.50 euros. I'm not at all confident that it will survive... we'll see. I have a photo that I would like to attach to my message.

ADR
This upright, bushy shrub rose produces round, double, beautifully shaped 5-6 cm flowers, which open from June to October in romantic clusters on healthy dark green foliage. Their extraordinary colour is a pale lavender pink, turning to parma. It was awarded the very demanding ADR label in 2017 for its natural resistance to disease, among other qualities. An excellent bedding plant, it also does very well in pots.

Description

The 'Nautica' Rosebush, still difficult to find,  is one of the latest additions to the beautiful Patio Rose collection and one of the most delightfully romantic with its almost blue roses. This variety combines abundant flowering, charm, and natural resistance to diseases, qualities that have made its creator; German rose breeder Kordes, renowned. Its double roses, with their Victorian charm and shabby chic style, display a tangle of petals where pale mauve barely tinged with pink and soft lavender blend. They bloom for months, gathered in romantic bouquets on healthy dark green foliage. This charming and carefree small rosebush fits well in flower beds and gardens of all sizes, even when space is limited. It can also be planted in a pot to decorate a terrace or balcony, and its flowers can be used to create lovely vintage bouquets.

The Rosa x Nautica 'KORcharblo' was introduced to the market by rose breeder Kordes Rosen in 2017, and in the same year, received the German ADR label, which distinguishes the most resistant varieties to pests and diseases without any chemical treatment, among other criteria. It is part of a series of roses, the 'Patio Rose' selected in partnership with 'Globe Planter' for their generosity and excellent adaptation to pot cultivation. 'Nautica' has an upright and bushy habit. This small shrub reaches approximately 70 cm (28in) in height and 50 cm (20in) in width. Its thorny stems bear dark green leaves, divided into five finely toothed leaflets with a satin-like appearance, resistant to diseases. Its flowering period is long, continuously repeating from May to June to October if the soil remains moist. The round flower buds, a slightly mauve pink, enclosed in green sepals, open into well-formed double cups measuring 5 to 6 cm (2in) in diameter, gathered in terminal clusters. They are only slightly fragrant but beautiful due to their nearly spherical shape. The deciduous foliage falls in autumn.

Shrub roses can create beautiful small hedges planted in a mixture alongside a terrace, along a path, or in small shrub beds. For example, they can be paired with abelias, Mexican orange blossoms, or caryopteris. They are good companions for phlox and hardy geraniums. This 'Nautica' variety will be enhanced when planted in groups of 3 plants, forming a highly romantic large bush for months. It can, for example, be surrounded by catmints and perennial salvias with blue, violet, pink, mauve, or white flowers. It can also be paired with baby's breath, or lavender. This very hardy rose requires little maintenance and can be grown in full sun or partial shade. It will please all gardeners, beginners and experienced alike.

Planting and care

To plant the 'Nautica' rose, plant it in well-drained soil between November and March. Roses like clay soil, but if the soil is sandy, compact or dry, add compost to the planting hole. Don't plant it in waterlogged soil in winter. Place it in a sunny or partially shaded area. Roses need a lot of nutrients, so use a specific fertiliser at the start of vegetation and throughout the flowering period. To encourage repeat flowering, remove faded flowers regularly. Prune the stems by about one-quarter of their length (from 4 to 6 buds from the base of the stem) in March. Prune above an outward-facing bud so that the bush can fill out and the branches don't become tangled in the centre of the canopy. Floribunda rose varieties are more vigorous and floriferous than large-flowered rose varieties.

Roses may develop unsightly spots at the end of summer, but this is a natural occurrence and doesn't harm the rose's growth.
