Description

Caryopteris x clandonensis Petit Bleu® ('Minbleu') is a new variety with a compact habit, smaller than the typical species. It bears an intense blue flowering on grey-green foliage. Ideal for small gardens and container cultivation.

This small Asian bush, measuring 60cm (24in) in height, is hardy and has a compact habit. It is also known as Bluebeard or Blue Spirea. It bears deciduous, opposite, simple, lanceolate, grey-green foliage. In August, it produces beautiful clusters of small tubular flowers with long stamens. The honey-scented flowers are of an intense blue colour and last until early autumn.

The reduced size of Caryopteris x clandonensis Petit Bleu® makes it suitable for both container cultivation on a terrace and for planting in borders with perennials, combined with cinquefoils or white or yellow perpetual roses.
