Description

This Les Lutins Terrace-side Flower Mix brings together 22 species of low, flowering and colourful annual plants, allowing you to create a dense, changing, colourful, and very abundant flowerbed in just a few weeks throughout the summer. The seeds are sown in the spring, in well-prepared and loosened soil, in a sunny site.

The annual plants that make up this mix bloom abundantly 6 to 8 weeks after sowing, and their flowering extends from June to October. Some of them will self-seed in the garden in light soil. The height of the plants does not exceed 50cm (20in).

Partial composition: Centaurea cyanus, Dwarf Cosmos, Eschscholzia californica, Layia platyglossa, etc.

The flower meadow is very trendy and combines the useful with the pleasant: flowering throughout the summer, it has a bucolic charm, promotes biodiversity, and requires very little maintenance. Occasional watering during very dry periods will be enough to obtain numerous flowers. Ideal for adding a rural touch to the surroundings of a terrace, this Les Lutins Terrace Mix includes nectar-rich or honey-producing flowers, providing a significant source of food for pollinating insects. Invite nature into your garden: sow our flower mixes near the house, along a path, in a slightly neglected area of the garden, on a slope bordering a sunken path, or at the back of the garden bordering the countryside.

Planting and care

Sowing: 5 grams per square metre

Dig to promote root growth. • Refine, rake, level, remove stones and weeds. • Thoroughly mix the contents of the packet. • Sow evenly like a lawn. • Roll or compact the soil with the back of a spade. • Water and keep moist until germination.

To limit weeds, sow the meadow on the same day as soil preparation. After germination, water once a week for 6 weeks.

When young plants appear, water well and remove weeds. In autumn, at the end of flowering, you can collect seeds and store them for sowing the following year.

Watering during dry weather will support flower production.
