Description

The High Scent sweet pea is one of the most beautiful sweet peas with its highly nuanced cream-yellow colour bordered with pink. It has received the famous English merit RHS Award of Garden Merit. Sweet peas are climbing annual plants that are very easy to grow. We love their butterfly-shaped flowers with their sweet fragrances. Treat yourself by regularly picking a few stems for charming little bouquets.

Planting and care

Sow the High Scent sweet pea seeds directly in the final location, 1cm (0in) deep and spaced 30cm (12in) apart, in warm and moist soil, in April/May. Germination takes 10 to 20 days. Early sowing is possible in a greenhouse: plant 3 seeds per 10cm (4in) pot. Transplant quickly before the roots reach the bottom of the pot, as this could compromise the plant's development. Plant the High Scent sweet peas in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Incorporate composted manure into the soil and apply liquid fertiliser every two weeks during growth. Regularly remove faded flowers to promote further flowering.
