Pair of Sanguisorba officinalis - Tanna and Pink Tanna

This pair of great burnets is composed of the varieties Sanguisorba officinalis 'Pink Tanna' and S. officinalis 'Tanna', two perennial plants that bring life to flower beds with their unique flowering in the form of small cylindrical spikes. They are vigorous and floriferous and they bloom in the heart of summer above an elegant, finely cut foliage. These burnets thrive in full sun or partial shade, adapting to a wide range of growing conditions and any soil that does not dry out too much. They are very cold-resistant, to be planted in flower beds, large borders, or near ponds.

The pair consists of:

1 x Sanguisorba officinalis 'Pink Tanna': This variety stands out with its pink flowers that bring a touch of softness to the garden. Reaching a height of about 60 cm, it is ideal for borders and small spaces.

1 x Sanguisorba officinalis 'Tanna': With its dark red flowers, this variety adds depth to flower beds. Its growth is slightly more modest, around 50 cm.

These great burnets are best planted in spring or autumn, in full sun or partial shade, in any moist to wet soil, slightly acidic to alkaline, even clayey. For a beautiful effect, position the tallest varieties at the back of your flower bed or border. Plan for 5 plants per square metre and maintain a distance of at least 40 cm between each plant.

Pair these great burnets with grasses such as Panicum virgatum 'Heavy Metal' and Pennisetum orientale 'Karley Rose', placed in the background. Add one or two Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus', perennial salvias 'Rose Queen', and autumn asters such as Aster amellus 'King George'.
