I have just received a young plant (heptacodium minocoides...) whose central stem is broken by 20cm (8in). I am very sorry about it, as it was beautiful. The cardboard box was not long enough and it had been folded inside. It is at this spot that it broke... I am very disappointed and in the future I will hesitate to buy from you again. Especially since in the previous delivery (3 plants) one of them had numerous spotted leaves. Best regards, K Promesse de Fleurs' response: I am sorry for this inconvenience, so I have sent you an email to offer you a partial credit note for this plant. You can prune it and plant it.

Description

Each flower lasts only a short time, much like the daylily, but the duration of flowering is actually very long, the flowers succeed each other for 4 months, sometimes more if you trim the clumps a little during the season. The spreading crown is vigorous and forms beautiful clumps in a short time. The lanceolate foliage somewhat resembles that of an iris. The curious flowers have 3 petals and come in various colours depending on the varieties.

Variety with carmine red flowers.

Planting and care

This plant likes moist, even damp, soil; a clayey and heavy soil does not bother it. It thrives in any garden soil not too dry in summer and tolerates full sun if there is no lack of moisture. Here, we grow it on the stream bank and in the rose garden, the white garden, the pink garden... In fact, wherever we like because it is so easy-going.
