Description

Rosier Generosa Rosomane Janon is in repeat flowering rose, as if it were looking for the most beautiful way to seduce. This vigorous bush changes in colour ranging from yellow infused with chartreuse to pink and almost red. Butter yellow buds and roses in shades of yellow, orange, and tender pink to almost red form multicoloured displays from May to the first frost. The fragrance of the flowers, with  fruity tones, reveals notes of vanilla, mandarin, and lime depending on the time of day and temperature.

Rosier Generosa Rosomane Janon is a shrub rose with a bushy habit, slightly erect. At maturity, this rose will reach about 1m (3ft) in height and 50 to 60 cm (20 to 24in) in width. The flowering, very perpetual like all Generosa roses, begins in May and will not stop until the arrival of frost. The plant produces countless buds that bloom into beautifully coloured bouquets. The flowers are double, 10-12 cm (4-5in) wide, formed by over 50 very fine, almost translucent petals. The buds open into rounded, compact cups. They emit a powerful fragrance in hot weather. The foliage is very healthy, deciduous and dark green to enhance the flowering, and requires little maintenance. This bush is very hardy.

It is a very hardy bush that resists diseases very well like all Generosa roses. Place it as a specimen in the centre of a bed of low perennials, or plant it among other white or soft yellow flowering shrubs. Pair it with Geranium Rozanne, Geranium Pink Cloud, Nepeta Walker's Low, or perennial Delphiniums. You can cut its flowers to make beautiful bouquets for your interior.

Planting and care

Roses prefer a sunny location (at least 4 to 5 hours of sun per day), but sheltered from the scorching midday rays and strong winds. Plant them from October to April. Easy to grow, roses like loose, permeable soil that is rich in humus. They prefer soil with a neutral pH, but will adapt to any garden as long as the soil is well-prepared and sufficiently rich.  To plant your rose, prepare the soil by crumbling it and adding an amendment, such as bonemeal, at the bottom of the planting hole. Water abundantly after planting to remove air pockets. Water regularly for a few weeks to encourage root growth. Pruning English roses is essential for flowering. At the end of winter, shorten the branches to 3-5 buds above the ground (at the lowest level), choosing an outward-facing bud for a more elegant habit. Take advantage of this pruning to remove dead wood and unsightly branches. Pruning is done at an angle above a bud. As the flowers bloom, remove faded flowers to stimulate the development of other buds.

Roses are often spotted or unsightly in late summer, but it is not a problem for their development. These spots are not harmful to the rose; it is a natural phenomenon.
