Description

Hebe 'Heartbreaker' is a small evergreen bush. It will amaze you in all seasons with its variegated foliage, offering a plethora of colours. This elegant Hebe will bring character to your garden, borders and containers.

Hebe 'Heartbreaker' is a small, round and compact bush. When full-grown it reaches a height and spread of 60 cm (24 in). Its slender leaves will provide you with a festival of colour. In summer, they are green, tinged with purple, and cream-white on the margin. During autumn and winter, its foliage darkens and takes on an intense purple colour with a white-pink margin. The 'Heartbreaker' Hebe will delight you with its flowering from May to July, in upright clusters of light violet colour, measuring 5 cm (2 in).

It makes an ideal companion for gardeners wishing to bring a touch of colour to their garden in all seasons. The Hebe bush likes light, well-drained, and slightly moist soil. This small bush tolerates limestone. This variety thrives in full sun or partial shade.

Planting and care

In gardens with a wet climate, the Hebe will do well in rockeries or on sloping banks. It prefers a rich soil that is always well-drained. In colder regions, it is necessary to protect them or cultivate them in pots, bringing them indoors during periods of frost. Shrubby Veronica does not need pruning, however it is advisable to to remove faded flowers after it has finished blooming. If the plant has dead branches, remove them to preserve its compact habit.
