Description
This 'Green Wave' Parrot Tulip is part of a very original species, formerly known as Dragonnes, in which the petals are fringed.
The petals of the 'Green Wave' tulip are bright pink to light pink with a wide green median, making it a replica of the 'Groenland' Viridiflora tulip in the shape of a "parrot".
From their formation until they bloom, the flowers are almost uniformly light green. The enormous flowers (over 15cm (6in)) are carried by flexible stems, making them particularly susceptible to bad weather. Therefore, they are most spectacular in vases. In the sun, the large flowers open almost flat and reveal a black star-shaped centre from which the light yellow pistil emerges. The foliage is abundant, vigorous, and a lovely bluish green.

Planting and care
Plant your tulips as soon as possible in a well-drained soil. Loosen the soil deeply. Plant at a depth of 15/20cm (6/8in) (Bulbs should be covered with twice their height in soil). Space the bulbs a few cm apart, making sure they do not touch. Choose a sunny exposure for better flowering. After flowering, cut the flower stalks and let the leaves dry completely before cutting them. After flowering, their foliage becomes unsightly and wilted. We recommend planting Heuchera, Tiarella, Brunnera, Bleeding Heart, Euphorbia cyparissia at the forefront of your flower beds. Their foliage will enhance the colours of your tulips and throughout the season, they will elegantly hide their yellowed leaves.
