Our range of orange flowering summer bulbs. Orange is a warm colour that energises borders, beds, containers and cut flower arrangements. The summer bulbs in this category flower between May-June and early autumn depending on the variety.
The Dahlia 'David Howard' captivates with its coppery heads enhanced by dark foliage. The Crocosmia 'Emily McKenzie' displays star-shaped orange flowers with mahogany centres on delicate stems. The Iris germanica 'Orange Ambers' offers broad, undulate amber-orange flowers at summer's turn, looking particularly lovely near ornamental grasses. The compact Asiatic lily 'Orange Pixie' produces numerous vibrant orange stars; perfect for containers and borders for a clean, long-lasting effect.

Orange complements blue, violet and purple beautifully; it looks elegant with white, ivory and silver-grey foliage; it blends in monochrome with amber yellows, apricot, coral and salmon tones; it becomes very graphic alongside purple or chocolate foliage. These combinations work well in the garden, in cut flower arrangements and in containers.

Plant in spring in well-drained, warmed soil, in sun or partial shade depending on the species. Stagger flowering periods by combining early and late varieties.
