Description

Spring Pink Asiatic Lily blooms in June-July. The slightly fragrant, double flowers are a lovely shade of pale pink with a faint purple edge. They have a green stamen with a dark pink tip in the centre. One bulb can produce up to 12 flowers.

The flowers are facing upwards, held upright on very sturdy stems that do not require staking. The dark green foliage of Spring Pink is deciduous. At maturity, this lily can reach a height of 1m (3ft).

This is an easy-to-grow, very hardy plant that spreads easily. Plant the bulbs in clusters of 3, 6, or 12 for a more beautiful effect. Spring Pink lily can be grown in borders and in pots and you can cut the flowers for lovely bouquets. The lily is a symbol of majesty.

Planting and care

This Lily likes to be in full sunlight with its base in the shade. Plant the bulbs 10 cm (4in) deep and 45cm (18in) apart in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost. Keep the soil moist but not wet. They prefer acidic soil and need winter cold, which allows them to root but otherwise require little maintenance. Be careful of spring frosts that can damage young shoots. Our Tip: Lilies are well suited to growing in pots. Plant 1 to 5 bulbs in a deep pot, water a little and place your pots in a frost-free area. Take them out in spring on your terraces to enjoy them to the fullest!
