Sorrel plug plants - ofthe Rumex the species and from the Polygonaceae family, is a perennial aromatic and culinary plant grown as a vegetable for seasoning due to the very tangy and sometimes sharp flavour of its leaves. It belongs to the same family as rhubarb and buckwheat. Despite their resemblance, Sorrel and spinach do not share the same parentage but combine well on the plate. Transfer your young Sorrel plants, for example, to a partially shaded spot in moist soil from March to May. They prefer neutral or slightly acidic soil and can boast about their high vitamin C and beta-carotene content.
