This small traditional hand hoe by De Pypere has all the qualities of a larger tool, but it is specially designed to work in hard-to-reach areas, as well as in flower pots. It is equipped with a short and sturdy ash handle, ending in a T-shape, which makes it easy to grip while increasing the strength, and has a heart-shaped head with sharp edges, allowing for 360° (680°F) use. It is an ideal garden tool for weeding, as well as for aerating and lightly loosening the soil. Its blade is hand-forged from steel, with a boron steel finish. It is lightweight, easy to handle, and durable, a well-made tool that will last for many years.

The hoe is an essential tool, designed both for weed control without the use of chemicals and for working the top layer of soil. This handheld model can also be used as an edger or for cleaning the gaps between paving slabs. Hoeing has been part of the gardener's vocabulary since the Middle Ages, with the action of hoeing meaning "to do twice". After the weeds have been removed by cutting them at the neck, the gardener uses the hoe for the second time to dislodge their roots, as well as to loosen and aerate the top layer of soil. This allows the soil to be aerated around the cultivated plants in the vegetable garden or ornamental garden. According to the old saying, "hoeing is worth two waterings": indeed, under the action of watering or rain, clayey or loamy soil tends to harden as it dries, forming what is called a compaction crust that is very difficult to rehydrate and suffocating for plants, and also promotes the upward movement of water and its evaporation. Breaking this crust after watering limits water evaporation. This small hoe is made up of a handle made of natural ash, a wood known for its hardness, with a socket where the forged head is fixed, which is made of tempered steel that is resistant to shocks, torsion, and corrosion. With its short handle, this model is particularly suitable for raised plantings such as raised beds or flower pots. Remember to work in a kneeling position if you are cleaning a traditional flower bed to protect your back. The handle is compostable, and the metal head is recyclable.

The traditional De Pypere range includes high-quality tools, all made of forged steel and equipped with ash handles. The boron steel coating on the blade is very hard and resistant, making it a valuable material for tools that can be heavily used in the garden.

This tool is covered by a warranty. The warranty does not apply to handles or grips, only to the metal parts excluding consumables (screws, springs, etc.) and within the scope of normal use.

Directions for use The small hoe is an essential tool, designed for weeding, raking, and working the topsoil. After hoeing, which involves cutting weeds cleanly at the base of the collar, the gardener can use the hoe to dislodge their roots, as well as to loosen, aerate, and break up the surface layer of the soil. The handle, finished with a T-shaped support, allows for leverage to drive the head into the soil or to rotate it. This handheld model is perfect for maintaining flower pots, planters, and small flowerbeds... It can also be used as an edger and is useful for cleaning grooves and gaps between paving stones. According to the old saying, "one hoeing is worth two waterings": indeed, under the action of watering or rain, clayey or silty soil tends to harden as it dries, forming a compacted crust that is very difficult to rehydrate and suffocating for plants. Compacted soil also promotes the upward movement of water and its evaporation. By preventing the formation of this crust after watering, evaporation of water is reduced.
