So far positive feedback on all the young plants ordered, disappointed with the perennial geranium, however, satisfied as you refunded me. You say that as soon as you have them, you will contact me again, but I have been on your page and I see that you have 27 in stock. I assume they are not suitable for me. Can I have an explanation? Thank you.

Description

The Deciduous Hybrid Perennial Geranium 'Tiny Monster' dons a powerful and bright colour. In the flowering of this hybrid geranium, we find the genes of its two exceptional parents: Geranium sanguineum and Geranium psilostemon. Its large intense pink corollas are veined with dark red, giving the flower a currant red shade radiating in the light. This wonderful little monster blooms in summer, then more sporadically in autumn, forming a compact and flowering dome with tentacular growth. It is an extraordinary perennial, undemanding, resistant and very easy to grow in full sun or partial shade, in well-draining soil. Undoubtedly a beautiful success!

The 'Tiny Monster' perennial geranium belongs to the geranium family. Its bushy and creeping habit gives this variety a wider than high silhouette, reaching 30 cm (12in) in height and spreading up to 60 cm (24in) or more, as its stems run on the ground and root upon contact. It flowers from May to July at the top of ramified creeping stems, and often blooms sporadically from September to November if the weather is mild. The corollas, with a diameter of 3.5 to 4 cm (1 to 2in), are highly pigmented, in almost saturated pink, and the veins of a vinous red are clearly distinguishable on the petals. The red anthers stand out well from the centre. The foliage is semi-evergreen or deciduous, composed of large dissected and palmate leaves, slightly pubescent, bright green often turning bronze-purple in autumn. This hybrid is sterile; it does not produce seeds and its growth can be easily controlled by removing excess creeping stems.

'Tiny Monster' is a superb plant that settles easily in "poor soils", even very chalky ones and occasionally dry ones. Ideal for a cottage garden, as ground cover, bordering a pathway or on slopes, this geranium will add a very colourful touch to perennial beds, dressing their base without worrying about poor soil, even if it is slightly less showy. It flowers very well even in light shade. It will prove to be a good companion for sedums, nepetas, Aster ericoides or Aster 'Ashvi', poppies and other tall daisies.

Planting and care

The 'Tiny Monster' perennial Geranium is an easy-to-grow perennial in ordinary, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It prefers a sunny exposure. It tolerates drought and limestone, but prefers and spreads better in cool, humus-rich, and well-drained soils. The creeping stems of this variety can be cut at any time to control its spread. This sterile hybrid does not reproduce by sowing. The foliage may sometimes partially disappear after flowering in hot summer climates, prune it lightly to encourage the development of new and vigorous foliage.
